Behind on Your Taxes? Get Compliant the Smart Way.
You must file to resolve your tax debt. Our attorneys create a strategic plan to get you compliant without filing more than the IRS requires, saving you time and money.
THE COST OF WAITING IS HIGH
If you don't file, the IRS may file a Substitute for Return (SFR) for you—without any of your deductions, creating an inflated tax bill. On top of that, penalties compound at up to 5% per month.

The Two Keys to IRS Compliance
To resolve any tax debt and stop collections, you must satisfy two core requirements. We guide you through both.
1. Filing Compliance
You must file all required back tax returns. In most cases, the IRS only requires the last 6 years. We ensure you file exactly what's necessary without creating extra work or tax liability.
Consequence of Failure:
Without filed returns, you cannot access any resolution programs (like an Offer in Compromise or payment plan) and collection activity will continue.
2. Payment Compliance
You must prove to the IRS you won't continue to owe taxes in the future. This means having proper withholdings from your job or making quarterly estimated tax payments.
Consequence of Failure:
The IRS will reject any resolution if they believe you will simply fall behind again. Future compliance is non-negotiable.
Your Questions, Answered
Will I go to jail for not filing?
While technically possible, it is extremely rare for the IRS to pursue criminal charges for simple non-filing. They are more interested in collecting the money owed. Our goal is to get you compliant and resolve the debt before it ever escalates.
What if I can't pay what I'll owe?
This is a very common fear. Filing your returns is only the first step. Once you are compliant, we can then negotiate a resolution for the debt, such as a payment plan or an Offer in Compromise, based on what you can afford to pay.
What about my refund from years ago?
The statute of limitations for claiming a refund is typically three years from the due date of the return. If you wait too long to file, you could forfeit thousands of dollars that you are legally owed. This is another reason to act quickly.
